Vancouver, Wa, 8/2/18 – Facebook is blocking the Dorothy for Congress campaign from advertising the signature campaign video with less than a week until the primary election ends. Over 50% of American adults are on Facebook and it is becoming a primary medium for candidates to reach out to voters.
“No Place Like Home”, the signature campaign video, is focused on Southwest Washington, the people here, and Dorothy’s grassroots run for public office. The video contains images of Dorothy, a veteran, with weapons in service of our country.
Facebook has accused the campaign of promoting the sale of weapons and had left our appeal unanswered for 48 hours. After the Dorothy for Congress campaign reached out to Facebook, the company then informed the campaign that it could take up to 3 more days for our appeal to be processed.
The primary election ends on August 7th.
